Соловей Н.А. «Экологическое нормирование шума портов» Естественные и технические науки, № 2, с. 61-63 (2012)

For many species of animals the area of frequencies range of a sound heard for them is rather distinct from that at the man and it's possible they aren't crossed in general. The general frequency range at which sounds heard by various animals, covers not less than eight orders of magnitudes (from the hundredth Hz to hundreds kHz) while for the man this interval is limited only by four orders of magnitudes. Thus, current anthropocentric norms of allowable noise levels can't be usable for regulatory actions of noise influence on natural ecosystems. Birds are the best test-object for ecological rationing of ports noise.
