Calculation-and-experimental methods of defining acoustic parameters of transmitting oscillations in liquid media within side waveguides of different shape and make have been developed. They make it possible to reduce considerably the cost and time necessary to carry out acoustic trials of a hydraulic system components. The method has been tested on existing constructions and is being used on practice.

It is shown that during vertical sounding of marine media a specific methodological error arises due to uncertainty of depth measuring. The radical method of reducing a structural error at vertical sounding of marine media consists in co-ordinating of limit errors of channels of directly measured parameters and of the depth measuring channel and in enhancing accuracy of measuring depth (pressure) up to the level of working references.
