In these proceedings, there are provided the results of research of fluid flow vortex sound generation around solid bodies with compound section (by example of a low-noise deceleration control unit) at the unified stand of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise «Industrial Association «Sevmash». It is shown that the hydrodynamic noise level spectrogram comprises a continuous spectrum, with distinctive discrete components seen against thereon. There are revealed the prevailing sound sources, with recommendations provided thereby for minimization of the hydrodynamic noise levels in such units.The research results may be used for conducting all types of factory stand tests required for checking the reliability and quality of equipment to be introduced in ships, including the conformance to strict requirements on vibration, noise and hydrodynamic qualities.
